Where did this come from?

CozmoTV enables you to easily find any cable or satellite content and schedule it for recording on your TiVo. Over the coming months we will be adding the ability to record Internet video on your TiVo and other devices such as Media Center PCs, PSPs, iPods and standard Macs/PCs.

You have to give them your email address and PASSWORD that you signed up on tivo.com with.

Only in order for them to schedule recordings on your TiVo.
You can still use the rest of the service without providing that information though.
You also have to give your TiVo login and password to Yahoo in order to schedule your TiVo with Yahoo TV.
Also same deal with Poopli to get recording data from your Replay account.

Hmmm, while I'm at it, maybe I should also send my debit card PIN to that guy in Nigeria who wants to send me a crapload of cash.
Not gonna happen.

Perhaps we should push TiVo to support a scheduling only login to our account that would only allow the person (or system) that logs in to schedule recordings by name instead of TSN.

You alos have to give your TiVo login and password to Yahoo thing to schedule your TiVo with Yahoo TV.

But Yahoo is a known entity. They are a huge multinational corporation, and I trust them on the privacy issues regarding this.
I have no idea who these people are. And as Zatz said, giving them the Pw gives them access to my address, and gives them the ability to change it, along with my credit card and other information.

Found a year old thread on CozmoMedia

Doing a little more reading it looks like Cozmo is working on providing easy access to broadband content for DVRs.
You don't have to have a TiVo to sign up, and even if you do, you don't have to register it with them.
I signed up without giving my TiVo login info and will keep an eye on what they are doing, it looks cool anyway...
I still think TiVo should provide a scheduling only login to our account to support services like this and Yahoo TV.
