When did "Music, Photos, & More" become "Music, Photos, Products, & More"?

I just noticed it. Which means it could have happened any time in the last couple of years. I didn't think my last drunk when on quite that long...

Let me be the first to say that these kind of Nazi tactics are typical of a money losing company with a negative book value and poor cash flow.

The "and products" was added in the 7.2.2 update.

Seriously... couldn't they have come up with a better name for that menu section? It doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

I'm thinking the change is to accomidate some sort of shopping application. Hopefully something TV related like a DVD store, or maybe a TiVo store like the one on the website but accessible via your TiVo.

I'm hoping for at least a Sony KDS-R50XBR1, if not a 60.

Or an HME app that has my TiVoes ordering other TiVoes.

That would make sense, and is more or less what I figured it was for. I believe that Pony did a demo at some TiVo get together in which the option to buy a DVD was presented with search results. Someone around here will remember this; there were photos, too.

It would be spiffy if each week you got a folder full of trailers for that week's DVD releases, and could order them at the push of a button. My desire to see a movie or buy a DVD is always highest right after seeing the trailer, but a couple of days later some other shiny bauble has my attention, and I've forgotten why I wanted to see the movie. This way I could buy totally on impulse. Yee-haw! That's what I want from my technology.

On second thought, how about a weekly promo for a nice, high-return investment plan. You could use the TiVo select that week's allocation--

Nah! Scratch that. I want my DVDs!
