I bought a Western Digital 300GB from newegg for $111.00. I have my Humax DRT400 running.
I do not need transfer any programs or season passes from Humax HD.
What do I need to upgrade now? Do I use PC for this? How do I hook up both HD to the PC?
Thanks.

Do I void my warranty if I open my Humax box hard drive? and change th? How long is the warranty for Humax? Should I purchase additional warranty from Bestbuy or from Tivo/Humax. I have lifetime subscription.
thanks again.

Just keep the hard drive that is in the unit in a safe place in case the unit ever needs to go back to Humax. There is no way they can tell if there was a bigger hard drive in there. Humax is currently replacing any defective unit for free to build up customer support but they indicate this policy could be cancelled at any time though they have no plans to do that any time soon. It's you're call on whether or not buy additional warranty. These lifetime units are going to be quite valuable as TiVo is discontinuing new lifetime subscriptions.
You need to read the stickies at the top of the upgrade forum for info about upgrading your hard drive.

TiVo definitely knows.
