SVR2000 and External Modem and 2.5

I have a SVR2000 that I had upgraded to a larger HD a long time ago, and I kept the original hard drive ( I guess it had 2.5 on)

The internal modem died so I put an external modem on it. ( It must have updated itself to 3.0 ) It worked fine for several years.

Now the hard drive died, and I went to put the original back in, but it is a version 2.5 something and will not work with the external modem.

Any advice..........

Would Instant Cake on a new drive work ? or do I need a version 3 backup image ?

Either one should do the trick. If you can get a more current image and restore it that will work fine. If not then Instantcake may be your next best bet.

Instant Cake is a backup image of version 3 with the necessary tools to install it.
