There are some discussions going on over at DDF with some folks who are starting to play with 7.2. What are the significant differences between 6.2 and 7.2, does anyone have a clue?

I have 7.2 slices but I need to play with 6.2 before I get really serious with all this.

The main differences are the fact that 6.2 won't work on a standalone and 7.2 won't work on a dtivo.
Other than that, 7.xx adds tivo to go, HME, and tivo go back ( encodes other video types to a format viewable on the tivo)

There are some folks on DDF trying to get 7.2 to work on HDVR2 DTiVo boxen, this is why I was curious. However, it doesn't look like anyone has been successful yet.

nope and they've been at it a while.
Besides HME I don't see a compelling reason to run 7.xx.

Take a look at the HME developers forum. That's a pretty compelling reason to run 7.1.
