So after a Family get together at my home last week I wowed some family members with my Tivo and got two of them to buy Tivo and service this week. So I have a few questions to anyone who has participated in Tivo rewards since I should have 25000 points or so by the end of the month after my Uncles get Tivo also.

1-It says up to 30 days to receive your points, is this accurate?

2-How long do rewards take to ship usually after you choose your product?

3-If you get a lot of referrals in a short time like I will do they "verify" them and hold up the point rewards longer?

4-Lastly i was curious what the highest # of points some of you have earned and how long it took you to accrue them/ Also, what did you spend your points on and were you happy with the product!?

Thanks!

I have earned 0 points. Because the rewards program was started after I convinced everyone I know to get a tivo. So I got nothing. And tivo did nothing for me to say thank you.

So I can't help you. But wanted to vent, since I got gyped after doing them right.

Ok, there was no point in posting that here. The original poster has legitmate questions. You just posted a complaint that makes no sense. TiVo added the rewards program and you complain because you already got people to join TiVo before the rewards program started? How is that their fault?

1-It says up to 30 days to receive your points, is this accurate? In my experience it's virtually instantaneous.

2-How long do rewards take to ship usually after you choose your product? It varies a lot. Yes, it really can take two months or more for items that are backordered. But a lot of items show up within a couple of weeks.

3-If you get a lot of referrals in a short time like I will do they "verify" them and hold up the point rewards longer?I don't know. I've gotten 2-3 in a short period of time (when I've sent info about a TiVo special deal to a bunch of friends & family), but never more than that.

4-Lastly i was curious what the highest # of points some of you have earned and how long it took you to accrue them/ Also, what did you spend your points on and were you happy with the product!?I'll go into my account to see how many I've earned and used... back in a bit!

EDIT: I've earned over 110,000 points since the program started, less than half of those being referral credits (the rest from the TiVo Rewards MasterCard). I've spent 85,000 points getting some Bose headphones and two Humax DVD-R TiVo units, one of which I gave to a friend. As for how long it takes, well, it depends on how many friends and family you can convince to buy TiVos and how much you spend on the credit card, if you get that.

Keep in mind that they can add and remove rewards and change point requirements for rewards at any time -- so if you see something you want, grab it as soon as you have the necessary number of points.

I received a 20 gig 4th b/w iPod last year (video iPods didn't exist yet) for 25K points from Tivo rewards. I'm very happy with it and love it. I've earned 55K points total over the life of the rewards program. I just redeemed another 25K yesterday for an iPod Mini. Mine were all from referrals as I don't have a TiVo CC.

I don't know who the king is but it's probably techbargains.com@gmail.com

I have received 64 referrals to date. I wish there was a better selection of rewards to spend my remaining quarter million points on, but overall I am happy. The Bose Sounddock I ordered seemed to show up quick, the DRT800 I ordered early on showed up slow, only after I made an inquiry to see where it was.

smackerama, care to "donate" some of those "extra" points? :D

I've only got 3 referrals, but they seem to show up almost instantaneously for me, too. Haven't cashed any in yet, waiting to see if they offer the Tivo Wireless G adapter sometime soon...

I had three relatives order early last week but they ordered from Tivo.com. I still haven't received my points but its probably because they just received them and only one has set it up. They all will be set up by this weekend but I was under the impression they come pre activated. Maybe they have to start the service first. They had to type my email in when they ordered so Im not sure how long it will be before I see the points. Hopefully soon.

Hopefully soon. You should ask each of your relatives to send you (1) the TiVo Service Number for their TiVo, (2) the e-mail address they used for themselves when they activated their TiVo service, and (3) the date they activated the TiVo.

With those three things (and their names), you can get credit for the TiVo referrals even if they forget to give your e-mail address when they activate their TiVos. Just go to this website (https://www3.tivo.com/tivo-rewards/faq/showrc.do) and fill out the form.

Every single referral I've gotten from a family member has required me to fill out this form, because my family members either (1) activate on the phone and never think to mention my e-mail address or (2) use the wrong e-mail address.

Quick question. If you xfr an account to someone else, do your reward pts go as well?
