Current situation:

My TiVo boots, I get to the main menu. Can go into Now Playing and play shows. From main menu, I CANNOT use shortcut 2 to see the to-do list. When I go into the menu to pick recordings, manage season passes, etc., the menu never shows, only the heading and the background. No sub-menu selections are displayed (Search by title, Search by wishlist, etc.). When I look at settings, looks mostly normal, except my service level is A. TiVo is connecting, according to settings, since there was a successful connection today. But no program data, according to Live TV - Guide.

Here's what got me into this mess:

My setup: Original series 2 from TiVo (140) with factory 60gb, and I added a 160 (only seeing 137) years ago.

Here's what I've done:

Sounded like a dying disk last week, I guessed it was the factory 60gb, and I dd'ed that to a 300gb drive (results showed 8 errors, 4k lost). Put the new drive back in, used the TiVo a bit (like for an hour), and all seemed fine. Then I went to mfsadd so I could see all the extra space, seemed like it went fine, mfsadd and TiVo both reported the full space (556 hours). I was able to record a show Monday night, watch it back, delete it, transfer from another room, play other shows, etc. Then while watching one show which was recorded before all this started, it froze, then reboot, then GSOD. I waited, but after 4 or so minutes, it reboot again (rather than the 3 hours it said it would take).

Do you think this can still be salvaged? Do I need to tinker with the swap space manually? Do I need to point it temporarily to the other main swap space while GSOD does it thing? Or should I just forget about saving anything, and start with a fresh image, lose the shows, but have a good, stable TiVo?

Any expert opinions out there?
