I really like this show, but I've become sick and tired of the political statements.
They are damned close to losing me... (as is Commander in Chief)

Yeah, they are pushing the agendas, but it is still entertaining. And, as long as Marisa Coughlan keeps showing up, I don't care what they talk about. :)

Yeah, another soapbox episode to roll your eyes to, which is par for the course almost every ep, more like every other ep, and never enough Denny Crane (except for the "nightmare" reference at the beginning).
I believe I said best one week ago (and no one believed me) when I predicted Brad and the druggie would be hooking up, at least that's where the character's storylines are headed.
Love the "JIBBERJABBER" but was feeling like the judge would die from some mysterious illness before the trial ended and the ridiculous sentence.
Loved the "Giggity Giggity" as well. Yay for Family Guy refs on different networks!
I also predicted the sexual tension/hookup with Alan and his secretary, which is getting old quickly, even if it was only a kiss. I love the tension, but not the acting between the characters.
Who was Robert Big Bob Morris? Must've worked on the show, prob with the production company.
Oooh, and also predicted next week's ep, but won't spill the beans! :)

I really like this show and burst out in laughter at the absurd levels they take many of these arguments to, sometimes only barely relating them to the case being argued. It's part of the amusement of the show.

The political statements are what the fast forward button is made for :) As soon as I heard the secretary's reason for not paying her taxes, I fast forwarded through every scene with that storyline. Don't know how it turned out and don't care.
The rest of the episode was very enjoyable and I think the whole show only took about 25 minutes to watch!

Well he just proved his point by the way you all are talking, No one cares about all the crap this president has gotton away with. I love the show and I'm glad someone cares.

They are damned close to losing me... (as is Commander in Chief)I agree....it was worse last night than it's EVER been. WAY too much time was spent politicizing
And, to top it off, it was just a poor episode.

The "statements" are the best part.

I agree that last week's was the most preachy Boston Legal has ever been. Usually I just grit my teeth, and the rest of the show is enjoyable, but the percentage of preachy is growing. The comment ripping Fox News was ironic given that averaging Boston Legal in, it balances.
I think I really don't care that they are putting forth an opinion, its just that its kind of just cut and pasted in, and not all that clever about it. My wife is hooked on Law and Order, and I think the writers there, given a "Lets do a show about ***" would do it justice without bashing the viewer over the head.
If this keeps up, I'm gone.
The part with Odo/Paul and the drug addict daughter was the better sub-plot of the show.

I agree that DEK is getting too heavy-handed with the political statements, but you can't say he doesn't have a valid point.....

I love Shatner, Spader, et al, but I'm outta there, too, if it keeps up at this week's level.
I agree that DEK is getting too heavy-handed with the political statements, but you can't say he doesn't have a valid point.....THAT'S certainly debatable....however this thread is NOT the place for the debate.

I was a big fan of Doogie Howser (one of DEK's shows) and really enjoyed that way the show covered the 1992 election. IIRC, Vinny was going to vote but wasn't sure whether to vote for Bush I or Clinton I. The episode was a pretty balanced discussion on how to vote (weighing facts, thinking about platform, etc...) Growing up I always felt that this is how TV shows should get political...not pushing a political agenda, but giving a balanced view. Now, DEK is just getting annoying. As a pretty liberal guy myself, I have found the show to go over the top. It's no wonder that conservatives mock the "liberal hollywood elite."
As for the comment above about how our conversation is proving DEK's point...you are so right...At 10pm after a long day at school and work, all I want to do is get preached at by DEK's wierd spin off. Why don't I protest about how bad america is and how bad Bush is?....too much work. I vote, I write letters to congress people, I read different newspapers (to make up for potential bias), but when I'm watching TV it's a form of escape (much like pina colada's).
