Plugged DirecTivo on a XP Pro Computer

I've plugged my DirecTivo hard drive onto my home computer using a USB 2.0 external adapter. Have I rendered this drive useless? I did not do anything but turn it on. If I have messed up the drive by doing so, is there any way to fix it? Please help. It's from a Samsung 80 gigabyte unit.

Is the drive no longer working in your TiVo? If you removed the drive from the TiVo and connected it to the PC, XP may have overwritten the TiVo boot sector. So, if it was working before the XP incident, and isn't now, do a search for "makebootabe.zip"
