I want to replace my drive because I'm having random reboots and I had a quick question. I was intrigued by instantcake due to the simplicity of it but one problem I noticed is you need to do a clear and reboot afterwards. Which of course requires a phone call to set up the DVR portion. I no longer have a phone line. If I read through all these forums is there a way to do it without doing a clear and reboot? Backup my existing drive and copy to a new one? I'm not looking to add a second drive just replace the one I have. Before I spend the time scouring through the threads someone just please tell me it's possible.
On a side note as far as a replacement drive is there a certain brand that works better than another? Any hot deals?
