I swear it was almost like Andrew and Bree had some common ground and might settle on a truce which would've been an interesting dynamic change for the show. But it's gonna be more fun to watch Andrew take Bree down, I think.

The best part of this episode was the lack of anything about Betty/Matthew/Caleb.

It was interesting going through the entire episode thinking Paul was dead. I'm enjoying the "Bree is an alcoholic" storyline, but not so much the Susan or Gabrielle storylines. They seem way too Soap Opera for me. The Lynette/Tom "my wife is my boss" storyline seems somewhat more real and has potential.

Great scene with Susan drugged up on the operating table. "I love Mike" .... "let's cut this bitch open" :D

I enjoyed this episode. I was and still am hoping Zack and Mike can have some sort of relationship. Not sure what rich grandpa is going to do now that he's met Zack. I really don't like the Lynette/Tom storyline because I think Tom is being a baby about it. Do something to change! Is his affair going to come out?

Who?

Oh yeah. I forgot all about them. Didn't miss them.

I don't think she threw it at him so much as threw it to get his attention and shock him. I think she actually threw it at her very pricey stainless steel fridge, which shocked me more

The drugged-patient-profess-her-true-love plot is so overused. I remembered "Who's the Boss" had it about 20 years ago. I'll bet some older viewers might seen it even before then.

I wonder how the Zack plot is going to end. Would it be something like Zack inheriting the whole fortune? That speech about loving the only father he knew was very painful to Mike.

The elevator scene was HOT! Any bets on whether it has a camera?

The fact that this thread has so few posts after nearly a full week is a testament to how bad this show has gotten. We just watched last night and there was nothing good about it. I thought it was totally stupid that Susan was already loopy as they were wheeling her to the OR. They don't give patients anesthetics before the OR. I don't really have any interest in any of the stories and I guess I'm still just watching out of habit.

I'm finding DH pretty tedious this season (however, my wife still likes it so...)

I did think Tom and Lynette's bedroom scene was funny though: "you won't let me get on top!!" Lynette is amazingly clear-sighted, I have to say. Her comments to Tom were so right on point that it didn't seem at all realistic. Who can speak that clearly and accurately off the cuff, in a situation like that? She's done this kind of thing before in other situations as well.

I think I'm watching out of habit, as well... I want to see how some of the story lines end up.

I'm never really sure what makes a show "comment-worthy" on TCF. For example, CSI (Las Vegas) is a top-rated show, and by all accounts a pretty good one for a genre show (I've never watched it) and yet episodes don't often earn threads here. I happen to agree that Housewives has lost a great amount of its appeal, but it is still a big audience draw, and short threads or not, I have a feeling that a lot of TCF'ers watch it. I wonder if everyone thinks it has gone bad, or has it merely slipped into that "CSI zone" of unremarkable competence?

The CSI shows are usually pretty tidy without a lot of unanswered, dangling storylines. So there's not the same sense of need to discuss things that there is with a show that progresses but leaves questions.

You make a good point, as does Doug, but if you compare the threads for this show last season to this season, it's definitely lost a lot of the buzz and "it" factor, if not viewers.

Is it a sad testament to my moral character that my first thought when she threw that was "Can we PLEASE get a zoom in on the fridge to make sure it's not dented?" I agree that she clearly threw it to get his attention.

However, what I want is more makeout/naked/whatever scenes with Andrew and his boyfriend. Yum =)

What does Bree do for money exactly? All the other "housewives" work or are supported, but Bree does nothing but housework and drink. Is she just living off Rex's insurance money? She seems far too practical not to realize that she can't do that forever. Between the morgage, car payments, two kids, and 42 bottles of Pinot Grigio a week must add up.

I'm hoping that the elevator does have a camera so that both Tom and Lynette can get fired. Or, more likely, only Tom will get fired so he can harbor more resentment against his wife.

Didn't Tom have a "big secret" that he could never tell her from back when his dad visited?

I don't see any reason why Bree couldn't live off Rex's savings and insurance for the rest of her life. They had obviously done very well prior to his death. They have trust funds set up for the kids. They probably had quite a bit of money in investments. I would bet that the house is paid off or close to it. He probably had a fairly substantial insurance policy. It's not at all unreasonable to think that all the assets add up to a couple million dollars. That amount, invested at a reasonable rate is still going to give Bree over $100k per year to live on.

As for Tom's big secret, I seem to remember something being hinted at or implied, but I always took it to be that the dad had always been a philanderer and therefore Tom had the same tendencies. I didn't think it implied that he had already acted on them.
