Recording Skipping

Our Tivo has started skipping sometimes when we are in the middle of watching a recorded show and fast forward through the commercial. It doesn't do it all the time and skips about 20 minutes. Any thoughts on what could cause this and how I can correct it? Thanks.

Sounds like you've run into a "well-known" Tivo bug. Well, it's well-known to Tivo Community members, but unfortunately seems to be ignored by Tivo, since I have never seen a single acknowledgement from any of the Tivo employee "regulars". :(

In summary, this problem apparently happens when you're watching a program that is still being recorded, and you do a 2x fast forward through commercials. I very often see it while watching a long baseball or football game, that I start watching an hour or two after the game started recording.

If you have the time and energy, please call the Tivo support line and report the issue to them. If they say they've never heard of the issue before (likely), refer them to the threads I've pointed out above.
