View Full Version : Galleon "To Go" doesn't get the right program list

With the latest version of TiVo software (that adds the Recently Deleted folder) the list of shows Galleon shows me to get in To Go (either from the TiVo end or from the PC end) is missing some shows, and shows other shows it shouldn't. I have to go back to TiVo Desktop for that now.

Isn't everyone else having this problem? It happened with that software upgrade so I expected it to affect everyone.

I haven't got 7.2.2 yet (I haven't asked yet), and haven't used Galleon since it was officially launched, except for Podcasts.

Galleon uses the undocumented web server on the tivo itself in order to get the now playing list. It's probable that Tivo has made changes to the way the web page gets formatted. The ToGo module would have to be rewritten to support the new version. Unfortunately, the Galleon developer recently announced on his blog that he will not be working on Galleon any more. He is the one and only developer. Hoepfully, someone else with the skillz will step up.
EDIT: from the galleon web site
"Galleon 2.2.0 is only recommended for TiVo's with version 7.2.1 software. "
in the ToGo description:
"This app uses the XML interface of the web server running on the TiVo recorder to determine the data associated with all the recordings currently available on the TiVo. The app will regularly poll the recorder for the latest data."
EDIT2: since it is a Beta release, you might be able to convince Tivo tech support to "downgrade you". I believe they can do that and it happens the next time you connect.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. -sigh-
Galleon was so much better than TiVo Desktop. But it won't run on my server, it can't work with network files (in spite of doing what Leon said to do to make it work), and now it won't do To Go with current TiVo software. How quickly that loss of support is rendering the best third party program ever developed for TiVo, useless. I'm afraid I'm going to have to start pestering TiVo to fix Desktop to handle high-ASCII characters again. (Or better yet, to make the third-party support better so we can get Leon back!)
Anyway, thanks for confirming it.
EDIT: If Galleon was doing all the other things it used to do, maybe it'd be worth going back to 7.2.1, but with it unable to play music anymore already, not being able to do To Go is just not enough to be worth giving up "Recently Deleted".

It's probable that Tivo has made changes to the way the web page gets formatted.
There are no obvious changes to the web server or the XML data in 7.2.2
"Galleon 2.2.0 is only recommended for TiVo's with version 7.2.1 software. "
Galleon 2.2.0 is not recommended for earlier versions of TiVo software. It works fine with 7.2.2
ToGo and GoBack are still working fine under 7.2.2

Not sure what to make of that. Clearly it's not, at my house. And nothing else changed besides the jump to 7.2.2 when it broke. There's not any configuration settings that can be wrong in a way that makes Galleon show deleted shows on the list but not show shows that are supposed to be there, so where do I go from here?

Ever since I took the 7.2 update, Galleon doesn't seem to be working right at all. No shoutcast stations or genres in my menu (except for Favorites which is empty).
MP3's won't play either....
I'm at a loss. Any suggestions?

Seems to be working here. I just got my upgrade and all seems well. I can copy shows to/from tivo with no problems. Shoutcast/photos/weather and everything else seem to work okay.
I have a Toshiba RS-TX20 and am using Galleon 2.2.0 under Linux.
