Hi! I'm trying to see if there's a way to pre-program my directv tivo unit to automatically play programs in succession. In other words, can I set it up to play all of the episodes of 24 that I've taped without physically being there? I'd like to set up my dvd recorder for long play and tape them all while I"m at work, but can't find a hack that will let me do it. help!

As you would have found with just a little searching and reading this cannot be done without hacking the box.

Haven't tried this myself,.....
Try obtain one of those "smart" programable remotes, you could program it with a macro to come on every hour and do a series of key stokes that would end up advancing the Tivo to the next episode and playing it
I don't know of a particular remote that can be programmed to run a macro every hour, (or whatever time-frame), but I have to believe that at least one is out there somewhere.
Anyone else ever try this? (Instead of Hacking the Tivo.)

I tried this one time from something i read here somewhere to record to my dvd burner several movies while i was away. it worked like a charm. I set up the timer recordings on my burner and set up the programs on my remote set the remote in front of the tivo and came back at the end of the day to find my shows recorded. Heres a trick set up your recordings for the amount of time short of the crap before and after the shows. IE: the minute of previews before and after the movies. Set up your timer for 2 min utes less or so than the actual tivo recording. My movies were perfect on dvd. + or - a few seconds.

Yeah, it can be done. Just play back the tape that has all of your episodes taped on. :D
Sorry about that, I'm in a weird mood right now. :)
