multi switch or two dish

when do you use a multi switch to run two boxes from one dish. and when do you go to using multi dishes

It really doesn't matter. I ran two dishes for awhile and finally put in a multiswitch and pulled one of the dishes down and stored it away as a backup. If you don't have concerns over the aesthetic issues of having two dishes on your house, that works fine.

On the other hand, many people wire their houses to a central point for video feeds. In that case, it may be easier and preferable to just have one dish so you only have 4 lines coming in from the dish to the central point as opposed to two with 4 lines each. Less coax to run.
