Just got my free DVR and after getting the 6.2 software I noticed that there is a difference in the guide formats beteen my 2 Hughes Tivo DVR's. I don't like the new Guide format which is much harder to read. Is the Guide button a function of the software or TV set ?? Or is there a function that allows different Guide format ??

I assume you changed the format of the guide, but it's still harder to read?

While in the guide, hit "enter" on the remote,
then you can change between the "Tivo" style guide and the "Grid" style guide.

Personally I like the grid style, as I've had satellite TV for years, and that's what they used.

It's just coincidence.

I personally found the DTV style guide to be slow and ugly. When I setup my fathers HDTivo I forgot to switch it and he was complaining too. Dunno why its so slow compared to the tivo style guide.

Dunno why its so slow compared to the tivo style guide.

Because it has to redraw everything, it's not just text like the Tivo style guide.

Channel surfers probably prefer the grid guide, dyed-in-the-wool Tivo fans probably like the Tivo-style guide better. I am more interested in a list of future shows, channel surfers want to know what is on in the next few hours.

I don't want to furiously scroll sideways in the grid guide just to see what the next 8 shows are (particularly for a movie channel).
