I cannot seem to get my Tivo (pioneer 810) to recognize my Laptop (Toshiba Satellite and vice versa. Both are properly connected to the network. the tivo downloads properly and accesses all internet sites ie yahoo weather, pictures etc.
My computer seems to be fine as well in fact when I force a connection by typing the ip address of the tivo unit I am able to finally download my tv shows. I recently tried to reinstall tivo desktop and my computer recognized the tivo briefly but has now stopped. I get the "there are no tivo dvrs" message. I have turned the xp firewall and virus software to no avail.
I have tried all the suggestions I have found in this forum and others. Tivo CSR was no help. If someone can help or direct me to the proper thread I would really appreciate it.
