Best Buy is advertising the HR10-250 in this week's sales flyer. They don't mention TiVo but you can clearly see the TiVo logo on the front of the HR10-250 in the photograph. They're promoting it and the non-DVR HD reciever as ways to watch "select NBA games in HD".
I stopped by my local Best Buy on Friday and they had 4 HR10-250s in stock. The week prior they were down to only 1. So it seems there are still many HR10-250s in the supply channel and being sold.

They may be available but they are not necessarily being "sold". The Best Buy circular in my area clearly shows the cost of the HD TIVO as a "lease fee" and the fine print also states it's a lease and the equipment remains the property of D*.

FWIW- There must be a short pipeline or either the HR10-250 has been a fast mover in the past several weeks. I purchased one at BB in the third week of Feb. and performed a drive upgrade on it last week.
Don't know where any specific manufacturing date is on the receiver(it is a series 500), but the manufacturing date on the original hard drive was December 2005!

There is a post over at DBSTalk where someone sent an inquiry to BB online sales about lease or owned and received a reply stating it was a purchase to own, not a lease. Crutchfield is also saying it's a purchase to own. What happens with D* when you go to activate is another thing altogether.

My local Best Buy has 6 of these on the self selling for $399. Was told that this was a purchase not a lease.

BB website has it for $499 and in stock at all stores in my area. No mention of lease anywhere.

BB ad in the paper yesterday had quite a long teeny disclaimer that had "lease" buried about halfway through.
I don't see anything on the website about the lease either.
Maybe once you put it in your cart the lease part shows up?

I added it to my cart and got all the way up to the last step of checkout and nowhere did it say anything about lease.
In another area, it shows a $100 rebate for leasing an advanced technology product, but the details on what that is all about are murky. Seems like the HR10-250s are 499.

Just got done trying the same thing.

Glad I got mine from 6ave, even if it did go down a little more each day until the 28th.

I activated my 2nd HDTivo yesterday after buying it on 2-25. I made a point to tell the CSR that this was a purchase and not a lease. She said that it was noted. I called back today because I forgot to request my rebate form. This CSR e-mailed it to me while I was on the phone with her. I asked her to look up my account because I did not feel comfortable with the CSR I delt with yesterday and lo and behold, she had it down for a lease. Now the trials and tribulations of getting the rebate. I think regestered mail is the way to go because it seems that D* has been loosing a lot of the mail ins !!

When a bunch of us preorded them way in advance when they first cam eout, lots of people got some that had manufacture dates (recent units no longer have that on them) from a few days previous! Talk about just in time.
