View Full Version : Channel Banner There But No Programming
Has anyone come across this? R10, new from DirecTV (because I returned the R15), 92% on both tuners, both tuners enabled, shows the banner but not the programming. system test successful. I called DirecTv the first time it happaned and they told me it could be static build-up. I'm told to reverse the two incoming feeds, which I do. The picture comes back on. I go on a business trip only to find out it didn't record my programming. Why? No Signal From Sat 1. No Signal From Sat 2. So I reverse them again and it comes back on. Last night I record Saturday Night Live (which of course I back up on my other R10) and no recording. Why? No Signal From Sat 1. No Signal from Sat 2. Now, I can probably just reverse the wires again, but that'll last maybe a day or less. Anybody encounter this? I own the unit.
(3) R10 (one is a refurb from DirecTv, but not the one giving me trouble)

Have you done a hard reboot, (unplug for a minute)?
Yes. It was working when I left the house yesterday. Let's see when I get back. It has gone down twice already and I have no reason to believe it won't this time. I'm wondering if I should put a cap on the RF in and the two unused ports on my multiswitch. I have the new Zinwell switch which has six inputs and I'm only using four inputs. Could that be an issue? Is that the source of "static?"

Try it- it can't hurt. It could be a bum multiswitch as well. Something similar came up on the other forum at <http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=54198>. You might want to compare notes as to which switch you have.
