I just installed a new Hughes dual tuner (I've had another one for a couple of years with no problem) and I can't seem to get anything to happen on the other tuner when I push the down arrow. It makes that "bonk" sound. Both cables coming in have a signal as I've switched them both to "Satellite 1" and have a signal.
Is there something I need to be doing differently?

did you tell guided setup you have 2 cables sat 1 and sat 2 going into the unit?

No I hadn't but that seems to have fixed it.
Last question:
I've got an oval 3 LNB dish and it's going to 2 TVs with dual tuners. What do I need to do to get 2 more cables to a DTV DVR?
I've got 2 multiswitches available that have 2 LNB inputs and an off-air input that splits it to 4 Receviers.

You need a 4x8 cascadable multi-switch. A quick search will turn up the recommended ones. The multi-switch FAQ at the top of this forum will explain how to connect it.
