Will DTivos Support a 250GB Drive? if so, which ones?
Also, is there a step by step instructions (newbie to Linux) on how to upgrade the hard drives?
p.s. are the R15's Linux? if not, i would need instructions on how to upgrade that too.
Thanks

Any DTiVo running 6.1 or 6.2 or the HD-DTiVo running 3.1.5 can support large drives. Series 1 TiVos can with a kernel mod.
R15s are not TiVos and are not discussed here.

FYI, the OTHER DVR is not hackable in any form and currently you cannot expand its recording capacity.

Tons of help with this in the Tivo Upgrade Center on this site.

So to answer my own question, the Dtivos DO NOT support 250GB Drives. They can only see 137GB.

How do you figure? Stevel said anything running 6.1 or 6.2, or the HDTivo running 3.1.5 will support large drives.

My DTivo sees the entire 160gb of my hard drive.
Just make sure you download and burn a mfstools CD with LBA48 support.

Correct. Any Series 2 DTiVo with current software supports big drives. Series 1 DTiVos do not unless you install an alternate kernel.
