TiVo Desktop - Install Problems

Greetings - I'm having problems installing the TiVo Desktop Software, version 2.2. I've downloaded the application over 10 times. All successfully. However, whenever I attempt to install the program it hangs (I've left it as long as 12 hours).

It hangs at The Features You Selected are being Installed. I click cancel after the last 12 hours. Ran setup again. Select repair. Installtion successful. However, when I run the desktop. Nothing. Only the hour glass. After looking in the services I notice that the beacon is not installed.

Any help is appreciated in doing a complete uninstall and getting this software installed.

having the same issues...


Desktop seems to be installing ok...goes thru installing files, registering info, etc....it stops right at the end, saying something like 'Updating info' or something...(I'll put up a screen shot later)...it hangs....have to End Task to close it since cancel doesn't do anything.

Afterwards, if I double-click the Tivo Desktop icon, nothing comes up...however, in Task Manager>Processes, there are TivoDesktop, TivoServer, and TivoBeacon...

I can't uninstall thru Add/Remove Progs either....that also hangs....have to do a System Restore....

XP Pro SP2 with no firewalls or ports blockers....The only thing is during installation, I uncheck 'Publish My Music and My Pictures folders'...I'd previously deleted those folders on my PC, so they wouldn't be found anyway...
