View Full Version : Can I make daily call with Cell and USB cable?

Hi everyone. Thanks in advance for any help. I just got a new phone with a USB port. Does anyone know if I can hook up my cell to my D-Tivo to make the daily call? If so, how do I get the reciever to use the USB port instead of the phone line. It's an R10 and I have a Verizon Razr phone. Thanks again.

A cellphone will never work with a DTivo unless they can provide 2-wire POTS (plain old telephone service) and a dial tone. (Read: Ain't never gonna happen.)

Do you really need to make a daily call? See this topic (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=229477).

As long as you don't order PPVs via the remote it should be able to go for a long time between phone connections. You get a once-daily nag screen after 30 days when going into the menus, but that's it.
