Just want and activated my new hd dvr and the csr side that it was a lease receiver i told her that i had bought it and she side since i activated after o3/01 her computer tells her that it is a lease 2 hours on the phone and still can not get them to charge it so they say call back to see if they can charge from lease to own.

I'm having the same issue. I purchased one from www.6ave.com and activated it 3/1. After 2 phone calls to Customer Service, it is still showing up on line as a leased receiver. The 2nd person I spoke with said that in her system, it isn't showing up as leased. This could be a real problem down the road.

I will be activating mine today and I have been reading about how the "bought" units show up as "leased" on your D* account. Someone posted(not sure where) that most CSR couldn't change this that it was best to ask for a "supervisor" since they had the power to do the change.

I taked with a supevisor same story call back in 2 hours to see if we can do it.

I wonder if there is a big deal if it called "leased" or not. The price a month is the same weather it listed as "leased" or "mirrored". I guess the problem would appear if you ever left D* for another company and D* claimed it a Leased unit and they tried to get the unit back or charged you some fee for leaving D* with a Leased unit. But if you got records of where you purchased it I think you would have no problems
