View Full Version : American Idol HD OTA sounds problems in so. cal?

I'm not getting dolby digital (Nothing from rear speakers) OTA from orange county on American Idol. I get full sound on the satellite HD feed and SD feed. Anyone else having this?

errr... same thing on the HD satellite feed now. DD works but its just really low and nothing coming from rear speakers.

SD sat feed is just fine.

BTW... the commercials pump sound through the rear speakers but AI does not.

Sounds like a network thing, from FOX itself, tho the fact it was coming thru earlier on on HD satellite is odd.

May not have been, wasnt tuned in very long and my ears may have tricked me.

Do you think it sounded better with 5.1 on the first couple weeks of studio performance shows, or did it sound better in two channel stereo on Thursday?

5.1 was way better, even if it was encoded/translated to 5.1.

two channel was crap, could barely hear it.

Hmm... how is that? I'm having the problem with a HDTV TiVo Powered PVR, is that not the name of this forum?

sounds like a network problem, not specific to your HD Tivo

Wow, I'm glad you were able to troubleshoot the problem. What exactly was wrong with my setup? Oh that's right, we dont know. It could either be a problem with my tivo box, a problem with the fox network broadcast, or a problem with my antenna. I guess this category would be ok then ;D

I watched it on Fox5 HD from Washington, DC, and Paula sounded like she was stoned or drunk. Is there some setting on my HR10-250 that can fix this?
