I have no volume on off air chanells or from the tivo recording, picture ok, its just on hdtv stuff, any ideas

I took it of dolby now all chanells are fine, so now I wont have 5.1?

I had the same issue. If you want to hear DD shows on the TV speakers you have to turn it off. When you want to listen through a home theater, turn it on. Remember, your TV speakers can't play DD anyway.

The Tivo stills records everthing in DD regardless of the setting. You just have to take the time to change it.

Most TV's don't decode 5.1. Run the optical out to your receiver and enjoy 5.1. (it really helps with backround and laugh tracks.)

the whole problem was the receiver got on PCM,now its on auto and everything is fine with dolby on and get it when they send it, just to many buttons to remember

Bigtime; I hooked up an optical cable 2 weeks ago and don't know how I lived without it. ;)

The sound has disappeared more than once with my unit. Restarting the TiVO, either by unplugging or via the menu has restored the audio.
