View Full Version : Random reboot problem
I have been using my HR10-250 without problem since its purchase (approx 18 months). Last weekend, I had a new 5 LNB dish installed with a new multiswitch. Last nite, my wife and i were watch a recorded show (King of Queens) while the unit was recording 24 and Two & 1/2 Men. My wife paused the show and the united went to reboot. Approximately 1/2 hour later, it happened again. Is it a coincidence or could the new 5 LNB dish have a part in the cause?

Loss of signal problems have caused my HR10 to reboot on several occasions. Rain fade is usually the cause I've observed. Check your signal strength, maybe the dish's alignment needs tweaking. I doubt it has anything to do with the AT9 dish's design although I don't have one yet.

My 250 also rebooted last night, however the issue seems to have more to do with the guide being all screwed up. When ever I try and record on 81, it instead records on 2-1. All of my Chnl 81 season passes are no longer displaying (81 CBSw) and are no longer recording. The CSR at first had never seen this before, but placed me on hold and discovered many people were complaining of this last night (2/27.)
Can't tell how long it has been off, as most of the shows I TiVO were on hiatus due to the Olympics. Is anyone else (LA or otherwise,) seeing this oddity?

FWIW, my SDTivo rebooted itself last night right before The Bachelor made his pronouncement (really pissed off my daughter - hehe). Somehow she blamed me for it (go figure).

Mine has done this about 20 times in the last year or so. Not fun when you are in the middle of watching live TV or, even worse, recording something important. At least it automatically picks up recording again when done rebooting but you lose about 5 minutes.

Mine is about the same age, and has been doing random re-boots. More frequent lately, so I did a clear and delete. Did it overnight, when through the guided setup in the am.
So far so good, and it is more responsive to remote commands. No more 5min of please wait.
You do lose all setup info, recordings, and SP's when you do, so write everything down first.
