Any series two TiVo, DirecTV, Humax remote will work. For that matter so will any series one Philips or DirecTV remote.

Weaknees sells the series 2 remote for $29.

You might consider this an opportunity to upgrade though and get a Logitech Harmony 676 for about twice that (after rebate), and have a universal remote that'll control everything you have.

Absolutely! I just got the 676 a week or so ago and have been absolutely thrilled with it. I've got a mixture of old and new components but it controls them all very elegantly. If one has problems getting it started (I did) they have OUTSTANDING customer service. Wish Tivo would mimic them in that regard.

I just got DirecTV (goodby Comcast!) and got the r15 DVR. Not NEARLY as evolved as Tivo software, by the way.

My big problem is that my beloved Marantz RC-2000 remote apparently cannot learn these new DTV remote codes.
Does anyone have any experience with the RC-2000 and the new DTV remotes?
If I have to replace them (I hope not...I have one in each room, programmed with everything from Tivo to the air conditioner) will the Harmony mentioned above work?

This is the 'Tivo help center' forum. If you feel the need to ask about this here at Tivo community forum, you should probably ask this off topic question in the 'Happy hour' forum which is specifically for non-Tivo discussions.

Oh...forgot to mention the remote also needs to work with my SA series 2. Since people were discussing the merits of a specific universal remote, it seems on topic to ask if anyone knows if it'll work with the r15 also.

So I'll ask again: any of you 676 user happen to know?

I pulled out the old brick, err RC2000, and it learned the R15 commands, some took longer then others.
