I asked this on another thread then decided it would be better here, sorry if this is a repeat for anyone.
I just got my Tivo DVD player. I already have another one and was sad to learn that I could not transfer my shows from the one I already have to the new one so I could record them from there. But from what I understand you can hook your VCR into the DVD player and download them that way. Because it says you can burn your family videos on to DVD this way. Am I understand that right?? So really you could transfer the shows from my old Tivo onto Video and then transfer that to DVD right??
I know there are ways to transfer using the computer but I have a Mac that is new enough that it won't work with any of the programs but not new enough that it uses the intel. If anyone has any thoughts on this I would love to hear it. I started a thread about it farther down, but my last questions never got answered so I would still love to learn more even if you saw the other post.
One last thing. I know that if you have your VCR hooked up to your DVD player some DVD's are encoded with something that won't let it show on the tv so you don't have the opportunity to record it onto the VCR. Is this something I need to consider when hooking my new box up? I can't seem to find anything about this in the guide.
Sorry for going on so long, thanks for all your help!!
