why can not do ''Record by time or channel

i have sony SVR2000 ,buy from ebay.with product lifetime service .and why i can not enter ''Record by time or channel'' to setup record time.and i see bottom of screen with the note:''Organizing program guide data.pick program to record will be available in 4-8 hours''.do i need to connect this tivo to the phone line to make the call? is it legal to do the daily call?? plaese help.thanks

You just need to wait the 4-8 hours it will take for the TiVo to unzip and organize all the program data it downloaded. You do not need to do anything, least of all worry. Your unit is behaving normally after a new guided setup.

That means that you'll be able to pick programs to record in 4 to 8 hours.

more than 24 hrs but still''''Organizing program guide data.pick program to record will be available in 4-8 hours''. some thing wrong? because i did do reset the'' data and to do the list'' last thursday
