Wilson was funny with that line about Cameron, how she always wants to know why bad things happens and he can't come up with new answers.

I didn't like this episode as much either - for the exact opposite reason as last week. Last week, I complained that it looked like they were getting ready to move into some darker episodes, but between last week and this week, I had sort of gotten ready for that... and this week wasn't really all that dark, at least no worse than usual. Yes, we got to deal with House's addiction - but we've been there before, in the episode where he detoxes. After that episode, this episode sort of felt like a retread. In the scene with House and Cuddy, I was sort of expecting them to reveal that his leg had suddenly gotten worse again.... but nope, he was just referring to his prior injury.

There were even a couple of bits that really annoyed me... particularly House being right about the dad having sex with her. I'm really kind of tired of House making these outrageous accusations about either the patient or someone related to the patient - then being right every single time.

I guess the episode I'd like to see, right around this point in the plot arc... have House be wrong all around... or, actually, have an episode like tonight where he makes an outrageous accusation that turns out to be right - but have the person NOT actually admit it, and as a result, the patient dies, leaving House to wonder if he really is losing it, leaving him to wonder where exactly he missed his diagnosis. Something to throw his self-righteousness off kilter.

I like your suggestions!
Yeah the accusation and it being right annoyed me too, especially when he used those lines from the mag article to explain how he came to the conclusion. Way lame! I also get annoyed that his "flunkies" perform all the radiology and blood workup, etc. (But the "God" conversation was funny.)

You were right about the addiction being a retread too, didn't we even see him looking at the bottle knowing he shouldn't take it but taking it anyway.

Really this whole show is ridiculous on almost every level, but for some reason I just like it. This has been 2 weeks without them breaking into anyone's house. House ha. Woohee!

For a while I wanted them to address the fact that he seems to be suffering from a few mental conditions, but then I realized that this is melodrama and it wouldn't matter.

This episode really went in a lot of directions. I hate the dad for what he did it was great to see house tricked by cuddy and wilson being right about being in his head. The end diagnosis caught me off guard which was pretty damn good. I see were they are going in the direction of house is slowly going over the line and someone will have to help him before he destroys his career. I still want an episode centered around wilson he is by far the most underrated character on TV. He is funny supportive and a voice of reason all at the same time for house who of course does not listen. A lot of the episode was uncomfortable to watch which I loved. When house said to the dad in a public area are you doing your daughter my jaw dropped.

I'm agree with Loadstar. Maybe they should have put this episode before last weeks? I understand House is a complicated person but after last weeks he seemed to be heading only one way. I was hoping Wilson would have to have some sort of intervention for him.

As for the doctor stuff in the one I didn't like the girl being a boy thing. I have seen this in a couple of other shows recently and did really care for it. I also didn't like that the dad had slept with his daughter. Overall not my favorite episode but I still love the show.

I enjoyed the ep. Wasn't the greatest ep, but still better than most of current programming.

I got a real chuckle out of the scene with House and Wilson, especially the whacking with the cane part. "Do you miss her too..."

The writers had me for a split second when Foreman was cautioning House that pain makes you rush things. House seemed reigned in for the moment and he screams the bit about doing his daughter.

That is a VERY good idea. In fact, if I didn't know better, I'd almost think that they did flip the order of the episodes... did anyone TiVo this weeks and last? Can you check the additional info screen to see if it lists the production number?

I loved that part. We really need more of Wilson!

I was hoping for Foreman to be right as well. Seemed like a well thought out point.

The Futon Critic (http://www.thefutoncritic.com/cgi/showatch.cgi?id=house&view=listings) has a listing of all the episodes, complete with production numbers. As you can see, last week's "Distractions" is 212 and last night's "Skin Deep" is 213.

Too many tumors and cancers recently, and always with the "where's the cancer? No way to know".

This was one of those times when I wish someone had been watching it with me, I guessed "she" was a "he" about 1/3 the way into the show. They kept dropping clues: No menstruation was first, then later unusually small ovaries.

I loved the father's look when House called him a "homo".

How many eps now have we had were someone had neo-plastic syndrome (sp?)? It seems like Cancer and its related illnesses are the standard disease--of course, without that, Wilson wouldn't have much of a part.

I'm gonna make a prediction--this show will really fizzle after 3 seasons unless something happens to really change things up. The illness of the week is getting more and more ludicrous (the girl gets testicular cancer? Her "condition" has never been noticed before? Her dad is suddenly grossed out by the fact that, not only did he bang his daughter, but he also banged his son?), while the characters seem to be repeating the same concerns and issues ep after ep.

I love the show, and Hugh Laurie is the best actor on TV right now, but House is slowly working it's way to the middle of the teeter-totter, and it's going to start going downhill soon unless something happens.

But boob guy was funny. :)

Pretty disturbing, that the guy did his daughter (even though he/she took advantage). I guess the modeling career is over unless the hospital has to keep it under wraps..

To me it's more like mash than a drama. There's so many humorous elements to it. Even mash redid a lot of the same plots again and again.

I liked the ep as well. I think my favorite scene was when Wilson was telling House his pain was all in his head and he proceeds to hit Wilson with his cane. "Ahhh, you're missing Stacy too!" Too funny!

Sort of. I'd say it's closer to West Wing, in that it's still a drama, but there's that witty writing style that keeps it fairly light.

I agree, no matter how much he drank or how hard she came on to him or how manipulative she is, that was freaky. I don't think being drunk could cause many men to have sex with their daughters (but then I'm not a guy, so you all can feel free to let me know if I'm wrong).

Well, the hospital has a responsibility to report it to the authorities, but they can't break confidentiality and spill it to the newspapers or some other source. Since CPS couldn't find any real evidence, there's nothing the hospital can do.

The bigger question is whether or not removing her testicles will affect her looks and her career.

Well there is that bible story where two sisters got their dad drunk and took advantage of him. I guess if a guy was incapacitated enough and was basically asleep nature could still take it's course.

They do not have to report to the authorities that she is a he, that's what the poster was talking about I think.

THAT was funny. Maybe now the father will think twice before sleeping with him/her. I guess incest isn't as bad as gay.
