yup. He was interviewed by Bob Costas last night on NBCs Olympic coverage, and they announced it there.

I missed the interview. :( I think he will do well at it, he has a great personality.
Nice of NBC to waste 5 minutes of Olympics time to introduce Jerome Bettis.

Nice of Jerome Bettis to bring 5 minutes of airtime to the Olympics to wake everyone up from the ice dancing coma they were in.

Why do they wait so long to get the rings? I'd wanna show it off right away

They have to design them. That would be bad karma (see Earl) to design your Super Bowl ring before you actually play in the Super Bowl.
Plus, they make about 150+ rings at an approximate cost of $15-20,000 each (that was the cost of last year's ring). That means they need to procure enough gold, identically cut diamonds, and other materials before they can even start.

Well that explains why he was on with Matt & Katie this morning. I was hoping they were going to name him as her replacement!

We could only be so lucky. My wife insists on watching that show in the morning. I tell her that Katie C's left wing arrogance is like nails on a chalkboard to me & the last thing I need to wake up to.

What coma? I just left it on fast forward during those things.

What coma? I just left it on fast forward during those things. You must get through each event in seconds, then! (with the exception of ice hockey....where there are absolutely NO commercials, features, etc., until the end of each period)

The hardest part about the olympics is that it is a straight 3-4 hour block with no real semblence of order. If I want to see the bobsled & speed skating, I have to watch...only to see 2 hours of ice dancing & curling before they show 15 minutes of real sports.
Fast forwarding works if you start watching at 10PM EST. Even if you start 30-60 minutes into the recording, you will catch up to live TV really fast.
