American Idol - 3 Nights, 5 Hours!

According to guide data, this week's Tuesday and Wednesday shows will each be 2 HOURS long. The results show on THURSDAY will be a full hour.

Looks like they're really trying to stick it to the Olympics!

No different than last year. Same format, it's just serendipity for Fox that it happens to be against the Women's Figure Skating nights.

I'm abstaining from the madness of FOX this season. But unfortunately a lot of networks are laying low in the wake of the insanity that is AI.

The DirecTiVo is getting a major workout between the prime time shows, Olympics and Sci-Fi Friday!!

Well, think about it....You should have no problem watching all of Idol and then tuning in to the Olympics. You can bet that Sasha Cohen won't skate until at least 11pm EST.

So tonight I'll watch Survivor, flipping over to Idol on commercial breaks to catch any "important" results info (maybe just at the very end). Then, after Survivor, I'll switch over to the Olympics.

I cannot watch American Idol live. Take 12 singers, singing 2 minute songs = 24 minutes...but stretch to 2 hours by adding video of previous rounds...400 commercials, etc. Boring! So, instead I Tivo it and start at 9...skip filler...listen to song...listen to judges (I use that term lightly because you're not a judge when you are clapping and dancing - yes you Paula!)...fast forward to next song. I usually catch up before it's even over that's how much filler they have!

Same with the results show...it takes 5 minutes to find out who is out, they could do it in the first few minutes of next Tuesday's show but no! Since it's done in front of a live audience, I wonder if they all sing for the studio because who wants to sit there just to see who gets voted off?

I decided 2 hours was a waste of time. So i do as you and FF all of the avg 6 min of filler and listen 30 seconds to a song, decide to FF or finish the song. etc to the end. It takes 2 hrs into about 25 minutes.

I hope soon they have a thumbs up for vote buit in.
