Guide Data Error: Amazing Race 9-- "No Upcoming.."

Tonight I saw the promo for tAR9 that starts on 2/28. I went to the ToDo and it wasn't there. I went to Wishlists and my standing (four years now) Wishlist for "Amazing Race" showed no upcoming showings. Then I manually brought up Live Guide, went to CBS on 2/28 and there it was. I scheduled a Season Pass for it. Went back to the ToDo and scrolled down. It was at the very bottom and said "No Upcoming Shows."

Those of you who have SP's/WL's for tAR had better watch out until DTV/TiVo fix the Guide data!

It's named sort of weird this season. It's called "The Amazing Race 9" and I'm wondering if they change the name of it at a later date.

The listing just showed up in the guide. The your WL might not have had a chance to "see" it yet.

SPs need to be redone every season due to CBS changing the name and series ID. Wishlists will pick up the episodes when the guide data populates.

I'm aware of that. I've had TiVos since January 2000.

I've had standing WL's for Survivor and the Amazing Race since those two shows started several years ago. They have always worked. If you put the title keywords in quotes, it will always find the program. Heck .. I had 12 entries for reruns of "Amazing Race" on the Game Show Network. I have it set for "First Run only" so none of those were set to record. Every new season, when I find the premiere of either show from my WL, THAT is when I set up an SP. Still, the WL has ALWAYS picked up every instance of either show because of the way I have them set up.

I went to my WL's, looked at "Amazing Race" (in quotes), and saw "No upcoming." Then, I went to the Live Guide. I found "The Amazing Race 9" premiere episode on CBS on 2/28 at 900pm. I made an SP for it. Then, I went back to SPs and found "The Amazing Race 9" at the bottom of the list (with all of the other "dead" SPs) with "No upcoming showings." I went back to 2/28 Live Guide. Yep. Still there.

Tonight, it appears that the TiVo/DTV elves have fixed the problem as it now appears in both the WL and the SP. Still .. a little disconcerting since if it stayed that way, I would have missed the premiere.

As to the name change .. it wouldn't matter. "QUOTES" are your friends in WLs as any change to THE"Amazing Race"9 or "Amazing Race"10 should still record. As to the Guide Data populating .. it had already populated with "The Amazing Race 9" in the Live Guide for 2/28 at 900pm. Still .. it didn' show in the WL OR the SP.

The listing in the guide is not enough for the unit to set a recording. The DVR needs to index the show into the database the SP or wishlists search from. Which is what happened when you say the TiVo elves fixed it.
