This past weekend I had a new d20 hd receiver installed and a new bigger 5 lbn dish. I did this because I have been a Dtv customer for 5 years and I pay $141.00 a month for my service. (all the channels 5 receivers, 2 dtivo's and i hd receiver). I pay the $10.99 a month for my HD channels, but I get no local HD channels. I wrote an e-mail complaining about the high cost and lack of hd channels and no local hd channels. I was told that the new sat. will be operationg in my area in may 2006. They went ahead and installed for FREE the 5 lbn dish and the new d20 receiver. All I have to do now is in may, have them tune in the new sat. position for me to receive locals in HD from MPEG 4...The d20 has a better picture in both HD and SD, but my old HD receiver(samsung sir360) had far more connections on the back. The new d20 has only 2 outlets. (1 to dvd recorder, 1 to tv).. There is no way to receive my dvd signal to the new h20. With my old samsung sir360, I could use componnet jacks to and from my dvd recorder. There are less features on the use of the remote as well. The bottom line is that now when and if they get the new sat. up and running, I will already have all the necessary equipment to start receiving MPEG 4 signals. I STILL believe in DTV...

Why do you want to have your DVD player output into the HD receiver? Just as a pass through? Why not connect it directly to you TV?

My tv has 2 componnet inputs. I have my hd recevier running to one with componnet wiring, and I have my dtivo through an s video to the other input. I run my dvd recorder through the dtivo, but they share the signal. I have to turn off the dvd recorder when I am watching dtivo or the signal is a little distorted. I use to be able to run the dvd recorder through my samsung hd sir360 receiver with componnent wiring. All I had to do was switch the imputs on my samsung remote and everything was perfect. Now, I can't view my dvd recorder with componet jacks and it is a hassle to switch off the dvd recorder everytime I want to watch my dtivo receiver. I think the samsung was far more user freindly in setting up other equipment to one's system

Do you have a digital connection that you can use to connect your d20 to your TV-DVI/HDMI?

If so, then you can use your current component connection for your DVD recorder.

You also list (2) component connections, one is connected to your d20, what is the other connected to? I see your D*TiVo is connected to your TV thru S-Video...

Don't you mean the H20

The new HighDef reciever (The only one that can see the MPEG-4 content)

FYI SteelersTivo... Avatars on this forum need to be a picture of yourself, or no avatar.

I do have 2 componnent inputs on my tv, but with one having the H20 on it and the other having the s-video from the tivo from it, It has to share the input with the componnet plug from my dvd recorder... 1 input has H20 componnent the other input has s-video for tivo and componnent for my dvd recorder.. I just can't have the recorder on without distorting the picture on the tivo unit.

My tv does not have any HDMI connections... It is HDTV ready thru a set-top box instead of built in.
