Hi Everyone

Are there any Mac users who use TiVoTool to extract recordings?

If so, which version of the Superpatch do you run in order to decrypt the recording? I'm confused by which version of SoftwareVersion the TiVo Series 1 has (6? 7? 4?)

Thanks in advance

paul

Hi asfafa.

I'm using TiVoTool. You don't need to run Superpatch on a UK series 1, just run Vserver on the TiVo then click 'refresh' in TiVoTool and you should see a list of your recordings. You will then be able to do things that are we are not allowed to discuss on this forum.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I found this out myself eventually when I brought across a small recording and it played successfully in QuickTime without any decryption. Neat :)

If you need any more help, TiVoTool has some good forums, or there is the website in my sig.

I've just taken delivery of my new Mac Mini (switched from PC), and I'm now using TiVoTool - piece of cake compared to what I used to have to do on the PC with TyTool etc. Burned my first DVD last night simply by selecting the programme from the Now Playing list and pressing "Burn to DVD".

Very impressed. No complicated setup required :-)
