Code to control Philips freeview STB

I tried using Gary's sticky thread to look up what codes I could try to fix my problem, but the links there seem to have been broken??

I have just bought a Philips Freeview set top box (does not appear to have a model number anywhere, but it is new). I have set the TIVO code to 20053 SLOW and it appears to work fine when testing it multiple times using the change channel button.

However, under normal TIVO operation, it occasionally does not change channel properly, and I end up recording the wrong thing. This seesm to happen when the program set to record is on channel 32 (E4+1) - TIVO changes the Philips box to channel 3 and I end up with a recording from ITV1.

Any ideas on other codes I could try?

Try the medium speed.

(My site also says the codes may not be reliable which means at least one other user has had issues).

I thought the "slow" setting would always be the most reliable, ginving time for the signal to tranmit and be received. Just out of interest, how do the slow medium and fast settings make a difference?

I remember with my old Thomson Freeview STB that the best codes which worked were some generic "freeview" codes in the list. Should I try these instead if the code for Philips is not reliable?

The speed just changes the delay inbetween digits, thats all.

There isn't such a thing as a generic freeview code really. Stick with 20053.
