Upgraded tivo cutting off recordings

A S2 SA tivo upgraded a while back(over a year) with a larger drive has developed a strange issue, ends of the shows are getting cut off. I am not talking about a minute or two due to clock or guide issues, but anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes.

Unfortunately the Tivo in question is on oposite coast from me so it is a bit hard to diagnose, but I was wondering if this is something that anyone has seen before?

I am thinking the drive is going bad, but I find it kind of strange that it only affects ends of shows.
