I replaced the factory 80g drive in my series 2 D* with a 120g drive that was in a series 1 Dtivo I no longer use, using the WeakKnees interactive guide. All went well and capacity increased from 70 to 100 as reported in messages and setup. But I got to thinking, shouldn't it report 105 hours, i.e. 40g = 35, 80g = 70, 120 g = 105?
Should I have formatted (or clear and erase or whatever the Linnux term is) the replacement drive first, or does this automatically happen when restoring to it with mfs tools?
