Instant Cake Question

I purchased Instant Cake for a Sony SVR-3000 about 4 months ago and it just died, no video, no hope for repair.. My question is this; Can I use the Instant Cake I purchased for the Sony Series 2 to upgrade a TIVO brand Series 2 unit?? When you purchase and download the Image from PTVupgrade they make you specify the exact model – shouldn’t it work on the Tivo Series 2 as well?

No, probably not. Sony software will probably not work in a TiVo brand machine.
Your best bet is to buy the iso for the specific model you are upgrading.
