Hi all, I'm looking for a bit of info/help. Its been years since I really messed about with my TiVo setting etc as I haven't needed to so I'm a bit rusty. Anyway, in a money tightening exercise I'm think of returning my Telewest cable box and replacing it with an old Nokia 9850T onDigital/Freeview box thats currently in another room. As such I have a few questions.
A) What is the best/easiest way to change digital platform? Is it quiet a hassle changing to another platform? I'm thinking of giving the freeview box a try for a few days before I cancel the cable box back, but if its a major job changing back (if its not all working well) I might have to think twice.
B) Will I lose all my season passes, recordings, etc?
C) Where will I find codes for the old Nokia 9850T onDigital/Freeview box?

Re-run the Guided Setup.
B) Will I lose all my season passes?
No, not if the new channel lineup has exactly the same channel names for each channel.
B) Will I lose all my recordings?
No.
C) Where will I find codes for the old Nokia 9850T onDigital/Freeview box?
Under Nokia, Freeview or Freeview 2

On BB less than an hour plus approx. twelve to twenty four hours to 'process it all' but you can carry on using TiVo in the mean time.

What do you mean on 'BB less than an hour'? Do you mean broadband? If you do, then I still get my daily call etc by telephone.

Well I had thought about that, because the only reason I still have a landline phone is for the TiVo, so if I did I could scrap the landline. Is it quite simple/cheap?

From what I remember channel changes on those old Nokia onDigital boxes were notoriously unreliable. You could give it a try and see how it works for you, but it's probably worth saving up for a more modern freeview box.

Thanks, I did read that it might have problems (from the few posts that I did find on the Nokia 9850), but I'm prepared to risk it. If it proves unreliable, then I'll just have to get a new freeview box.
