Super 30 second skip

So we were watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympics tonight, and fast forwarding (1 arrow of the 3) through the slow bits. A commercial came on, so I hit the 30 second skip button. And wham - we blew past all of the commercials, and were well into the next bit of the program. So clearly it skipped more than the 30 seconds. Now, I know that if you are on the maximum fast forward speed (3 arrows), then the 30 second skip button will behave as it was originally intended, namely to skip to the next tick mark. But does anybody know the rules for its behavior on the 1st and 2nd fast forward speeds?

The behavior is still the same. It will skip to the next tick mark no matter what speed it is on fast forward (1x, 2x or 3x). The 30 second skip only works while play is on normal speed.
