This is not a problem just something very strange. I am a great fan of Stargate and had a season pass for that and many other programmes (but Startgate was my favourite).
I decided to update my Tivo by buying a new ready configured Hard Drive from Tivo Heaven. I knew I would loose all my details, wish lists and season passes etc but was prepared to put up with that. All went well. I removed the two small drives and replaced them with the new 250Gb drive. It then behaved like a brand new Tivo and I spent hours setting the box up and downloading all the new listings.
The next day I decided to add my season passes again. The first one I did was Stargate and was surprised that the Tivo gave me the message "A season pass for this programme already exists!" I checked the season pass list and of course it was empty. Out of curiosity I never told the Tivo to record Stargate but I watched to see what would happen when the programme started. Sure enough, the Tivo changed station and started to record! I once again checked the season pass list and it did not exist. There is no way the Tivo could know about this pass because I had a totaly new drive and firmware.
Maybe Stargate is the Tivo's favourite programme as well!
