I've had a Sony DirecTiVo Sat T-60 for the last year which I love....I recently purchased a Pansat FTA 2700A and Tivo standalone TCD540040.....I wasn't sure on how I wanted all this to work but have since decided that I'll just leave my Sat T-60 as is using the pass thru for the standalone and FTA....The main features I'm looking for in the standalone/FTA combo is Pause live TV and manual record.....Now I found that without subbing the standalone it will not function the manual record...The pause live TV function does work though......What options do I have here? Keep in mind that I am a cheap sob..lol... and I only pay $5.00 a month for the TiVo add with my DTV bill.....Can I add the standalone to my DTV bill with out additional charge or just another 5 bucks?... If so...can I pick from a different program guide to download then DTV's such as Dish??....Is there a setup for my standalone to use the manual record funtions without a sub??
Thanks in advance for any help with this

No, the standalone model that you have needs a sub to do anything more than trickplay (pause, rewind, etc.) in the 30-minute buffer.

Some Series 1 TiVos will let you do a manual record without a sub, and those TiVo/DVD combos that come with TiVo Basic will allow you to do manual recordings also.

You will need to sub that DVR directly to the standalone TiVo service, DirecTV won't help you there. Having a Dish lineup won't help you muvh with the FTA receiver, unless you mean you are going to use the TiVo with your Dish subbled legit box.
