Channels Not Changing

Over the past few months my Sony SVR-2000 has every so often
stopped changing channels. This was happening just once in awhile,
no big deal. I just pull the plug on the unit to reset it and it would
come back and work ok.

Over the last few weeks it has been happening more often, and now
it's at the point where it's happening every day, sometimes twice a day
and if I don't catch it, my shows get all messed up and don't record. :(

Pulling the plug still resets it and corrects the problem, but it seems that
I have to leave it unplugged longer and longer now. I'm just wondering
what's causing this to happen so frequently, and if there's anything I can
do to fix it. Any suggestions would sure be appreciated. I posted a request
for help on this yesterday, but can't find it on the help forum any place, so
I'm posting it again.

That thread was an old one from 2001. When I had this trouble
that time it was because the IR control on my cable box had
shifted and I was not aware of it. Once I got it sitting right it
resolved the problem. I know that's not what's causing it this
time because after I reset the unit the channels will change.

I am having the same sort of problem. I changed out 2 30 hr drives for 1 120 hr drive.
Tried doing setup again and still not changing channels.
On the TV screen it shows the channel that I punched in bit I am always on channel 4.
