Can a motherboard from a HDVR2 be put into an R10 to make it hackable?

Sure...but it won't be an R-10 anymore, it will be a HDVR2. The motherboard IS the TiVo, so what you are really doing is using a R10 powersupply and chassis to support your HDVR2. The resulting TiVo will identify itself as the old HDVR2, want its access card, and will run version 6.2 not 6.1.
