Hiya all, i just got my TiVo a month ago. and i just thought i'd say hi and ask you experts some questions for a TiVo noob like me. For X-mas my folks gave me a nice hefty Best buy gift card. So after thinking bout it for a few weeks i decided to blow it all on a Tivo, with 5 bucks to spare. I figured with the huge mail in rebate check thing Tivo was advertising, that i should strike while the Irons hot. anywhoo to make a long story short, i had just enough to get the 40hr stand alone Tivo Series 2 and didnt realize that the 40hr recording time really only applies if you have it to basic quality. I read in here and online that its possible to upgrade your tivo by either switching or adding a hard drive. I was wondering if you guys had any advice as to websites, all in one tutorials or guides to help me out. I'm not totally sure i wanna do any upgrades because i'm scared that i'll mess up, rather than having only 40hrs i'll end up with Zero Hrs of recording time... I'm no best buy geek squad, but i have added an internal DVD drive to my PC LoL.... Thanks for any advice you can give me and what not..... :D

You want to replace your drive. You don't want to add a drive to a 40 GB system, due to temperature, power, and reliability risks.
