Is Direct TV wrong?

I have a friend who has the new 5 LNB dish and he called Direct TV about purchasing an HR10-250 Driect TV box with TIVO. They told him this box would not work at all with that dish. I thought it would work but only could receive the MPG3 channels and not the MPG4 channels.

Can someone here tell me if the currect HD Direct TV with TIVO box will work with the new dish for the MPG3 channels?

Yes it will work fine with the MPEG-2 channels (there is no MPEG-3).

amazing they wouldn't try to at least sell him the box for 600 bucks. Guess they really dont know what they are doing

I noticed that your in Tinley Park,IL and I'm in Bolingbrook,IL. When I ordered the HR10-250 Friday,the CSR said something to the effect that it wasn't available in my area yet. I asked twice about getting the AT9, but was shot down twice. It's probably not that big of a deal, if they do an exchange of receiver and dish later on this year.
