Howdy, folks. I'm mostly new here, but you may know of me from such brothers as mbklein or such way off-topic posts as the OCD discussion. Yay. Anyway, I'm wondering whether anyone in the DC area would be interested in trading old TiVo guts for a consult on my overdue wide-screen tv purchase and media set-up.
My functioning equipment includes a DirecTv TiVo, Macs and a Treo 600, and I'm looking for advice about adding on and/or having them all share data better. Previously I've used several different people to help with stuff about a specific machine, but after each of those visits... nope, still got big-time annoyances and questions. [And I know my bro' wants to help, but that's been impractical.]
Now I don't imagine that these used parts are worth as much as the amount of time I'm probably asking for, so I'd like to discuss other forms of compensation. Or, these 2 things don't necessarily have to be linked; any referrals to professional consultants are most welcome.
