I have had my TIVO for about 5-6 years now....an old and trusty companion. I upgraded the HD on it 3 years ago to 240G.

Unfortunatly it seems to have just died on me. It was just showing the program guide on top of a black screen last night . You could change the channel and you could hear the sound. I could select MY TIVO and select recorded progs to watch but still just a bloack screen and just the sound.

I powered it down and reset it and it booted up fine and you could watch liveTV. However when trying to watch anything recorded the picture would judder and freeze up.

I reset again and now it just clicks at me and doesnt boot up at all!

I suspect a drive has crashed but not sure. Any ideas? Anyone know where to get a TIVO fixed in the UK? I have a lifetime subscription so dont realy want to get a 'new' secondhand one off ebay, plus it could be anyones old junk.

HELP PLEASE...thanks all

I mis-read that as "rusty". Not sure why :)

Sounds like the HD to me too. You said you'd upgraded it previously, so you should have no problem doing so again :)

Pre-configured hard drives are available from a couple of places; most notably www.tivoheaven.com or www.tivoland.com. You could also try ebay but the best guy on there runs the first site I mentioned anyway :D

Apart from not misreading "trusty" as "rusty" I have confess that, for once, I agree with everything Carl says ;):)
